Rate templates do the arithmetic
Set up how you actually charge, once. Per kilometre, per hour, a fixed fee, per passenger, or several of those combined on the same job. Rates can differ by vehicle class, carry a minimum charge, and include optional extras the customer can choose to add.
After that, pricing a charter is picking the vehicle class and letting the template apply. You can still override any line (it is a starting point, not a straitjacket), but you are adjusting a number rather than building one.

Distance you can stand behind
Pickup and drop-off addresses are geocoded as you type, not stored as free text. The trip is then routed and measured for real, so the kilometres your price is based on are the kilometres the coach will do.
That includes the empty running. Getting the vehicle from the depot to the pickup and home again costs you fuel and driver hours whether or not it appears on the quote, so Transport Chief measures those movements too and lets you decide whether to charge for them.
