Customers do not book a registration number, they book "a 53-seater with a toilet". Transport Chief groups vehicles into classes carrying the capacity, the features and the photographs, and those classes are what quoting, the planner and your online storefront all work from.
It means a substitution is a non-event. Swap which vehicle covers a job and the quote, the capacity check and the customer-facing description all still hold, because they were never tied to that one bus.

Compliance dates that come to you
Certificate of fitness, registration, road user charges and service intervals are tracked per vehicle, and the system tells you what is coming up. Driver credentials work the same way. Licence classes and endorsements are held against the driver, so the planner can tell you when the person you have assigned is not licensed for the vehicle.
